Comments:

Heldreich (1845, n. 795, "stigmate jaune pâle"; 1845, n. 766, "stigmate violacé"); Reuter (1847: 28, "stigmate ... flavescente"); Boissier (1884: 504, 506, "Stigma luteum vel flavidum" ... "stigmate (e sicco) flavescente"); Beck (1930: 197, "stigma ... violaceis (sec. Heldreich), vel purpureis (sec. Grisebach), albis etiam (sec. Forsyth) munitum"); Gilli (1982: 6 [key], 16-17 [description], "stigma violet, purple or white").

Orobanche grisebachii: yelow or purple stigma, on Leguminosae / Orobanche palaestina: white stigma, on Asteraceae.

Orobanche grisebachii Reut. is conspecific to Orobanche minor Sutton (Boissier 1879: 512; Domina & Raab-Straube 2010). However, according to Greuter & al. (1989: 264) and Boulos (2002: 94) it is conspecific to Orobanche palaestina Reut. in DC., Prodr. 11: 718 (1847). But in the opinion of other authors, it is considered to be an independent species very closely allied to O. crenata (Gilli 1982: 90-91; Pils 2006: 259 photo). Although, from our point of view, the taxonomic relationship among these species is still open to debate and needs to be better explored in order to improve our scientific knowledge of this taxa.
